A diva and her happy feet

While on my travels of Downtown Goderich I, of course, stopped in to Wuerth Shoes. This store has been around for as long as I can remember. Not only do they have great shoes, boots, slippers, purses and more, they have beautiful window displays.They put their pretty products on display and lure me in to the store every time I pass by.

On this trip I quickly visited with the ladies working and then spent some time exploring. Winter may not have arrived yet, but it will and if you are in need of warm and protective, yet fashionable boots Wuerth Shoes has them!

Monday – Thursday 9am-6pm

Well, the summer flew by, and I will say that I had a great summer! Unfortunately, this means that I just didn’t blog, at all. I am back though I had so many great experiences this summer and will try to tell you all about everything!

Yes, I know, summer isn’t just over, but fall is now coming to an end. I am actually getting pretty excited about winter. Skiing, cozy nights, beer tastings, hot chocolate, snow. When you live in Canada you have to love all four seasons, especially winter. Well I guess you don’t have to love them all, but if you hate winter, a good 4-6 months of your year will not be fun!

Over the next few months I plan to write regularly and post all of my travels through out Ontario’s West Coast!

Bye bye summer :(

Hey all, hope you had a wonderful labour day weekend, even if the weather wasnt exactly a hit. I gotta say its pretty depressing, summers over, and I dont think I was ready  for it to come to an end. O well never fear, there is still lots going on in this happenin county… for example Taste of Huron is still taking place. If you have not yet been to an event, no worries there are still events this week. Tonight is the Little in and  tomorrow is at Eddingtons in Exeter, and the Gala on Saturday night…. looking forward to it!

Last Wednesday I went to Wingham for the Fireside Cafe dinner, and it was delightful. I had never been to FIreside cafe and was very pleased to learn that they make a large effort to keep things healthy. The owner was create, he came out and spoke and told us many stories about why he feels its important to eat healthy. He was great to listen too!

Also the food was so great! I had this amazing porkloin with peaches, roasted potatoes and broccolii, while JD chose the lambshank. We all started with a funky greek salad, and finished with a white pound cake with strawberry jus and blueberries! DELISH! It was a great experience. If you are ever in Wingham, I would definitely recommend Fireside!

Taste of Huron Kicks off at Hessenland

Hello everyone,

On Monday evening Taste of Huron kicked off at Hessenland in St.Joseph’s. Unfortunately the majority of the Taste of Huron had to be cancelled due to the unfortunate incidents in Goderich. However many of the dinners are still going as planned, which means there are still a number for people to attend. Wednesday there is a dinner in Wingham which still has openings. It is being held at the Fireside Cafe from 7-9. Just call Fireside if you would like to make a reservation.

Hessenlands dinner was very very tasty! What I enjoyed about it was that it was very low key. it was buffet style and spread out between inside the restaurant and out in the beautiful backyard. The best thing about buffet is that I was able to eat as much as I wanted :) and believe me when you are at Hessenland, you want to eat as much as you can!

I really enjoyed the entire night, and from the surveys I had customers fill out it seemed that I was not the only one! In fact I did not have one person complain about anything! impressive I must say!

Anyways make sure you get out and head to at least one Taste of Huron event, experience the LOCAL cuisine. It is so refreshing eating a meal and knowing exactly where all the ingredients came from!

Hi all! hope everyone is doing ok, its been a crazy week, and I hope that everyone is doing better in Goderich and in Benmiller.

I have been keeping myself busy, and we know what that means, Me going out and eating yummy food :)

I went back to F.I.N.E  in Grand Bend. I have been there a few times in the past, and it is one of my absolute favourite restaurants! I have never had anything but amazing experiences at F.I.N.E.

JD and I shared two appitizers to get us started. We had the curried seafood bisque, and crab crostini. The grab crostini was unbelievable! o my goodness wow. O oh I almost forgot about the bread to start. Many restaurants provide  some sort of bread or baguette  and what not, but at F.I.N.E they bring three different kinds, and they are all housemade! the basket included mini soda biscuits, olive focaccia, and (my personal favourte) banana bread!
















Than for our mains! We both went for the special, steak tenderloin, garlic mashed potatos, and grilled asparagus, with a red onion jus.  It was perfect, melt in your mouth steak.














And then, just when you thought there is NO WAY Kaylie can eat anymore, I continued to push forward and went all the way and had probably one of the greatest deserts I have ever tasted. It was a chocolate peanut butter pie made with oreo cookie crust, chocolate mousse, whipped cream, melted fudge, o my mouth is watering again!


Not only was the food perfect, but as usual, so was the service. Our server was so knowledgeable and nice. I left F.I.N.E as one happy, and extremely full lady!!!

Hiya folks!


So this past weekend I realized that I had only been to the ArtSee café ONCE this whole summer! Whats that about!?! I am not pleased about this! I went on and on over a month ago about how it’s the BEST BEAKFAST EVER and I havnt had time to get back there since. Last Saturday morning I made it my mission to get me some tasty breakfast.


Jd and I went and luckily got a table outside in the beautiful sunshine. I mentioned this last time, but I love how the ArtSee is on Main Street but is still kind of tucked away and very private feeling.


Anyways, as usual the breakfast was ridiculously amazing! I order my go to, the pesto scramble, and JD had a scramble as well but with smoked ham, peppers, and cheese.


I have to tell you this was my first time ever finishing all the eggs! They give a very large portion of eggs, and normally I cant finish it. But that day I had my game face on and those eggs didn’t stand a chance!





Then on Saturday evening, me and two of my girlfriends went to the Red Pump for dinner. I have to admit, I forgot to get pictures.. OOPS! Everything was just so tasty and I was so excited, and I had a glass of champagne . As our dessert was half gone I realize I had taken no pictures to share with you all. My sincere apologies.

I will tell you about how delicious it was though! Phoebe and I had Caesar salads as an appetizer , and Kendra had the trio of brushetta, one being the classic tomato balsamic and basil, the other was with mascarpone cheese and smoked trout, and the last one black olive tapenade with prosciutto.

For our mains I went with the linguine with pancetta and fresh tomatos, Phoebe had the white fish with sauted veg and fingerling potatos, and Kendra ordered the veal chop with sweat potato mash.


And yes it was all as good as it sounds!


We were all stuffed buuuuut. The desert at the Red Pump is way too good to pass up. We decided to split two desserts, three ways. We had the flowerless chocolate cake with raspberry sorbet, and the pecan tart with chocolate gelato.


I bet you are all thinking, wow isn’t Kaylie lucky two GREAT meals in one day, well that’s not all folks. Sunday morning I got a text from my mother (it was her birthday btw) asking if JD and I were interested in going for brunch with he and my dad. Guess where we went?!? ARTSEE!! Woohoo!! The best part is that on Sunday they have a brunch menu, so it was different that on Saturday.

I had the cajon egg scramble with chorizo sausage, Jd had the goats and hens, which is eggs with goats cheese and herbs, my father had the monte Crisco sandwich, and my mother also had the cajon eggs.

It was all delicious again! And Busy holy heck that place is booming during breakfast and lunch!

All in all I was very lucky and very full after a yummy weekend eating in Bayfield.

Hello my dear friends!!!

First off I must send out a huge thank you to all our readers! Today we surpassed 10 000 hits which is very very exciting! So I just want to say thank you for all the support!

Alight next on the agenda. Tonight was one of those perfect summer nights, the weather was perfect, not too hot, not too cold, and the humidity was bearable, which is a nice change! Jd and I went for frozen yogurt at Copenhagens (or Bones Cones for anyone local) then biked around the town. We went to Pioneer Park to watch the sun set and and finish off our frozen yogurt.

After that we came home and jumped in the pool for a late evening swim. It was a lovely Tuesday night in Bayfield.

I dont know if this happens to other people or not, but so many times when I think I posing for a picture, people take a video of me. This happened yet again tonight, so I am putting this video up to show you all how stunned I can be at times :)

Hello my friends, just wanted to remind everyone that this weekend  in Goderich on the square  is the ART MART! I love love love the Art Mart!!!  It has everything! Unique jewelry, delicious food, clothes, art, furniture, etc.

I am heading there bright and early tomorrow to get my shop on. I literally go every single year and start getting my Christmas shopping in check. I know that sounds ridiculously early to start thinking about Christmas, but you can get some really awesome gifts there!  Anyways just wanted to make sure that everyone knows! Hopefully see you there, have a great weekend!


Shopping in the county

This afternoon I had a few free hours so I decided to take to the streets and go shopping! Well today was just window shopping, I seem to be a little low on the cash funds, but thats a whole different story. Anyways, I walked down to Main Street in Bayfield to check out the shops and believe you me, if I had more money I would have come home with a whole lotta stuff! That is one thing I love about Huron County, all the unique shops.

I rememeber as a kid whenever I wanted to go shopping I insisted my mother drive me to London so that I could get all the coolest clothes. Well a lot has changed since then and I really love doing my shopping locally. Not only to support our local businesses, but also because the stores in Huron County are so unique. I dont know how many times I have went out wearing an outfit I found at a small boutique and had people gush over it. When I tell them i got it in Bayfield, or on the Square in Goderich, or at a shop in Exeter they always seem shocked. What makes me enjoy it even more is that I rarely, if ever, see someone wearing the same outfit.

Huron County shops allow an individual to express themselves rather than dressing in conformity. I mentioned a few months ago about how I did all my christmas shopping the year before in Huron County and it was really easy! Next time you are looking for the perfect birthday gift, or a new outfit for a wedding, or anything, just head to the many  shops that Huron County has to offer. I would be shocked if you didnt have any luck!
