Hello friends!

Last weekend, Goderich hosted a slue of events for Canada Day Weekend celebrations. Starting on Saturday, we had the Farmer’s Market, and Sunday, the Flea Market. The town decided to block off a section of the square and run the markets on the road, which allowed for safer and easier access to the vendors.  With lovely weather, and a new setup, my sister Ronny and I wandered around the markets. I always love going to the Flea Market, especially to find glass treasures like teapots or plates!
Canada Day FireworksLater on Sunday night, my friends and I went to the beach to watch the fireworks. With our glow sticks and blankets in hand, we sat on the sandy beach (with what felt like the rest of the town) and watched an amazing display for half an hour. We saw some people using kayaks and canoes to paddle further into the water to get a better view, to which I say I’d LOVE to try that next year! With the various colours and variety of styles, I’d have to say that this year’s fireworks are the best that I’ve seen in a while.
To conclude the Canada Day celebrations, my cousins and I went to the parade held in downtown Goderich. Luckily, the rainy weather held off just long enough to allow the parade to finish! I always love going to parades, especially when I am with friends and family to enjoy them with. Along with great floats, 2 horses, and plenty of antique cars, I was so pleased to see how patriotic everyone was. With all the flags, hats, {temporary} tattoos, and red & white I saw, it was refreshing to know that even in a small town like Goderich, people really do love our big country of Canada.
